  • Peel Regional Police Seizes the Largest Number of Illegal Firearms in its history

    Region of Peel- An investigation into the criminal activities of a local street gang revealed ties to individuals involved in firearms trafficking. Peel Regional Police uncovered a firearm trafficking network and the investigation was elevated to a Joint Forces Project, dubbed “Project Chrome”.

  • PRP to host groundbreaking event for new 23 Division

    Region of Peel – On June 24, 2024, Peel Regional Police will host a groundbreaking event for the new 23 Division at Lagerfeld Drive west of Mississauga Road, Brampton, alongside stakeholders and community partners.  Once built, the new division will be situated at the corner of Coolhurst Avenue and Lagerfeld Drive, which will be northwest of the intersection of Mississauga Road and Bovaird Drive, Brampton.

    Region of Peel –  Peel Regional Police has released a new framework as part of its South Asian Community Engagement (SACE) initiative – marking a ground-breaking step to better serve South Asian communities in Peel Region. Approximately 40% of residents in Brampton and Mississauga self-identify as South Asian.

    Search Warrants Executed in an Attempt Murder Investigation WATCH VIDEO HERE  Region of Peel - Investigators from the 12 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau have arrested a man and seized a firearm in connection to an attempted murder investigation. On Sunday, March 10, 2024, at 11:15pm the victims, a 47-year-old man and 22-year-old woman from Mississauga were present in a vehicle when they were shot at several times by the occupant of a passing vehicle.
  • Illegal loaded firearm located during vehicle stop

    Region of Peel – Officers from Strategic and Tactical Enforcement Policing (STEP) have laid numerous firearm-related charges after investigating a vehicle in a parking lot in the area of Kennedy Road and Clarence Street in Brampton. On May 22nd, 2024, officers from STEP were investigating the driver of a vehicle for a Cannabis Control Act offence.

    Region of Peel - Officers from the Strategic Tactical Enforcement Policing (STEP) team located a loaded firearm and laid numerous firearm-related charges after conducting a traffic stop in Brampton. On May 3, 2024, Officers from the STEP team conducted a traffic stop in the area of Kennedy Road and Clarence Street in the city of Brampton.

  • Police Share Update on Residential Shootings and Homicides

    Region of Peel – Today, Peel Regional Police (PRP) and the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) shared information on the joint investigation of recent residential shootings and homicides which are believed to be related.   On November 7, 2023, PRP responded to a shooting incident in the area of Cottrelle Boulevard and Thorndale Road in the City of Brampton.

  • Peel Regional Police Becomes the First Large 9-1-1 Communications Centre in Canada to Launch Next Generation 9-1-1

    VIDEO Region of Peel - In June 2017, the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission's (CRTC) made a mandatory decision for all Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs) to upgrade their networks and technology to be ready to provide Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1) services to the public by March 4th, 2025. After this decision, Peel Regional Police (PRP) embarked on a journey to meet the future needs of our community and improve service delivery models.

  • Arrests Made by the Extortion Investigate Task Force

    Region of Peel - The Peel Regional Police Extortion Investigative Task Force (EITF), with the support of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), executed a search warrant resulting in the arrest of four individuals concerning recent incidents that occurred throughout the Greater Toronto Area since December 2023. These incidents included mischief to property, threats, and firearms-related offences.
