Region of Peel - The Peel Police Service Board today announced the release of its 2025 Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Plan, a legislatively mandated framework developed in accordance with the Community Safety and Policing Act (CSPA). The plan outlines a transparent and measurable strategy to promote equity, diversity, and inclusion within Peel Regional Police (PRP) and in the Board's oversight of policing in one of Canada's most diverse communities.

Through a formal letter sent to Premier Doug Ford, Solicitor General Michael Kerzner, and Associate Minister of Auto Theft and Bail Reform Graham McGregor, the Board and Peel Regional Police emphasize the urgent need for stronger policies and enforcement mechanisms to address repeat IPV offenders, illegal firearm trafficking, and the rise in stranger sexual assaults committed by individuals with no legal status in Ontario.
