Charities, Partnerships & Scholarships

Peel Regional Police employees volunteer thousands of hours and raise funds each year in support of local charities, community organizations, and scholarships for youth in Peel Region. These partnerships strengthen the bond between our service and the communities we serve.

Charities We Support

Our employees go beyond the badge — donating their personal time and fundraising dollars to organizations that make a difference across Peel Region and beyond.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Peel | York

Big Brothers Big Sisters Logo

The Big Brothers Big Sisters mentoring program matches a child 6 to 17 years of age (Little Sister/Little Brother) with a caring adult (Big Sister/Big Brother) over the age of 18. Through regular outings, a relationship is developed between the mentor and the mentee, which is built on trust and common interests and is supported by our experienced case-workers. The result is a life-changing experience for both the mentor and the mentee. There are other ways to volunteer, for example by helping the agency out with a fundraising event.

JDRF Chiefs dinner banner with place setting

Nothing can stop us from finding a cure - not even a global pandemic.

There is no question about it, 2020 has been one of the most challenging years we have collectively faced. While it is still filled with uncertainty, JDRF knows that research and support for those living with type one diabetes (T1D) cannot slow down - not even for a second. Our commitment to those living with T1D is stronger than ever and the milestones we’ve reached is because you were by our side.

While our 2020 Annual Chief’s Dinner in support of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation has been cancelled, we continue in our fight to make #TypeOneTypeNone.

Peel Police has been supporting JDRF for over two decades and our 2019 JDRF campaign was the biggest and most successful. With your support, as we shift to an online donation platform, we can again make a difference in the fight to find a cure for Juvenile Diabetes.

There continues to be an opportunity for our community to fuel research and improve the lives of those with T1D by providing a donation to JDRF. Simply click on the Donate button below and submit your donation. You will immediately receive a tax receipt at the time that your donation is processed.

Thank you for your trust and your investment in the mission and vision. We are fortunate to have you as supporters. Please consider our request and for continuing to support some of the most vulnerable members of our community. We will not stop until there is a cure!

Cops for Cancer

This year marks 21 years of Peel Regional Police proudly supporting Cops for Cancer, in partnership with the Canadian Cancer Society. We fundraise for one simple reason: kids should never have to fight cancer alone.

Through Cops for Cancer, we are committed to supporting paediatric cancer research and care, helping to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children facing cancer today. We also stand with the families who fight alongside them – and honour the memory of those who have bravely battled this disease.

Your support helps ensure that no family goes through this journey alone.

Get Involved. Be Part of the Fight.

Throughout the year, we host a variety of fundraising events in support of Cops for Cancer, and we invite you to take part. Whether you donate, attend an event, or get involved as a volunteer, your contribution truly matters.

Over 30 Years of putting a smile on children’s faces during the holiday season!

It all began in 1993 when Peel Regional Police created the Toys for Tots campaign. Officers began by collecting donations in water jugs to purchase new toys for children in need throughout our community. Each year we strive to reach more children by delivering toys, smiles and a message of hope to kids and their families.

Together with our community partners and supporters, we have brought joy to children and families in Peel Region for over three decades. Your generosity has had a meaningful and lasting impact on countless families in our community.

We are excited to launch our 2nd Annual Miracle on Main Street Toy Campaign starting in November 2025.

Miracle on Main Peel logo

Established in 2011, Miracle on Main Street has achieved incredible success, fostering strong relationships with community partners, schools, hospitals, and organizations throughout the region. In 2023 alone, the campaign raised over $1 million in donations, directly benefiting underserved families and helping spread holiday cheer.

We look forward to working with you once again this holiday season to bring joy and smiles to families who need it most. Together, we can make this year’s campaign our most impactful yet.

The National Peace Officers’ Memorial Run (NPOMR) was established in 2005 when the Peel Regional Police running team, The Pacers, decided to raise awareness of the annual Police and Peace Officers’ Memorial Service held annually on Parliament Hill in Ottawa. The running team wanted to create a way of raising awareness of the annual service and at the same time pay tribute to those officers who had so valiantly given their lives in service of their Community and Country.
