Two Arrested Following Violent Brampton Carjacking
Region of Peel – Investigators from the Central Robbery Bureau have arrested and charged two individuals in connection with a violent carjacking in Brampton.
On Saturday, Jan. 10, at approximately 2:10 a.m., a man and woman were exiting their vehicle near Queen Street East and Goreway Drive when they were approached by two masked suspects. At this point it is alleged that the suspects then assaulted the male victim and stole the couple’s vehicle before fleeing the area.
One suspect was arrested shortly after the incident, while a second suspect remained outstanding.
On Thursday, June 18, investigators located and arrested the outstanding suspect following a targeted surveillance operation in Vaughan.
As a result of the investigation, Evan Nurse, 23, of Vaughan, and Shemar Sallaby, 23, of Brampton have been charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
- Robbery
- Disguise with Intent
- Flight from Peace Officer
- Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime X2
They were both held for a bail hearing and appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton where they were released under a number of conditions.
