Peel Police Identify Suspect in Mississauga Stabbing

Region of Peel – Detectives from the Homicide Bureau have identified the suspect wanted in connection to a fatal stabbing in Mississauga.

On Tuesday, May 19, at approximately 12:15 p.m., police responded to reports of a stabbing near Hurontario Street and Agnes Street. It is alleged that the victim and suspect became involved in a physical altercation in a nearby parking lot, during which the victim was stabbed. The victim, who has been identified as Chay Wilson, a 32-year-old man from Mississauga, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The suspect has been identified as Jerome Edwards, 28, of no fixed address. He is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for second-degree murder.

Investigators are urging Edwards to seek legal counsel and surrender to police. They also remind the public that anyone found harbouring or assisting the suspect may be arrested and charged.

He is described as male, black, medium build with short black hair and a black goatee.  He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, black zipped style jacket, fluorescent green pants, yellow timberland style boots and he was wearing a black watch on his right wrist. He is known to frequent the Hurontario Street and Dundas Street area.

The suspect should be considered armed and dangerous.  If seen, the public is advised not to approach and dial 9-1-1.
