Peel Regional Police is committed to our Vision of 'A Safer Community Together'. Everything we do is driven by our Mission, Vision and Values and we pride ourselves in being accountable to our community. We are the second largest municipal police service in Ontario and the third largest municipal police service in Canada. We serve the Cities of Brampton and Mississauga which has over 1.5 million residents, and the Pearson International Airport which saw an estimated 44.8 million people passed through in 2023. One of our objectives is to address crime through call response, investigations, enforcement, and police visibility. With almost 2,421 police officers and over 1,000 civilian employees, our solvency rates are some of the highest in the country and our crime rates are below provincial levels.

Indigenous Land Acknowledgement
We acknowledge the land on which Peel Regional Police operates, and that it is a part of the Treaty Lands and Territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit. For thousands of years, Indigenous peoples inhabited and cared for this land, and continue to do so today. In particular we acknowledge the territory of the Anishinabek, Huron-Wendat, Haudenosaunee and Ojibway/Chippewa peoples; the land that is home to the Metis; and most recently, the territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation who are direct descendants of the Mississaugas of the Credit.
We are grateful to have the opportunity to work on this land, and by doing so, give our respect to its first inhabitants.
Code of Conduct and Code of Ethics
Peel Regional Police officers are held to a high standard of excellence. While on and off-duty, our officers' conduct is governed by the Police Services Act (PSA) of Ontario. This Act is legislation that applies to all police officers in the province and sets out responsibilities for Police Services and their officers.
Our Code of Ethics provides all of our employees with clear guidelines that establish expectations of their conduct. Some of the highlights include:
We are dedicated to providing an inclusive and equitable police service that our employees and community can be proud of. We ensure our service attracts and retains skilled employees who are reflective of our community. We have also met and exceeded standards set by Excellence Canada, and provided bias-free training programs to inform and educate our employees to recognize their own biases. We also offer a number of services to the public and our employees in multiple languages and accessible formats.
Our community is at the heart of everything we do which is why we work hard to engage and build partnerships with the public. Community safety can only be achieved together with the community and to ensure we receive input and feedback from distinct parts of the community, we created the Chief's Advisory Committees. To date, these committees include the Black, Chinese, LGBTQ+, Muslim, Sikh and Youth communities and these committees enhance relationships and build trust.
As we work to prevent crime, community initiatives, awareness and educational programs are key. We have a number of proactive youth partnerships.
Our Community Mobilization Teams work with the public to improve safety, wellbeing and develop long-standing trust. These teams attend various events, give community presentations and work with the community on projects to reduce crime.
Our social media accounts support the transfer of information both inside and outside the organization and allow us to constantly communicate with the community.
Our employees also spend numerous hours volunteering and fundraising to assist those in our community who are in need. Since 2006, over $14 million has been raised for various charities, through efforts by Peel Regional Police and community members.
We also regularly survey a random selection of households and businesses throughout Mississauga and Brampton to seek their input into the delivery of police services. The feedback received is important to our strategic planning process and for the development and delivery of policing services and programs.
The 2024-2027 Strategic Plan is the result of extensive collaboration and thoughtful deliberation with our membership, PPSB and community partners. It sets the roadmap for our service and members for the next four years as we undertake critical initiatives to provide effective policing in our vibrant and unique community. At its core, our plan reinforces our commitment and vision of building A Safer Community Together by highlighting excellence and partnership as vital pillars of our service.
