Redevelopment of Sir Robert Peel Centre Officially Underway
Region of Peel – Construction has officially begun at the Sir Robert Peel Centre, marking a major milestone in Peel Regional Police’s efforts to modernize infrastructure and prepare for the future needs of our region.
Built in 1981, the Sir Robert Peel Centre has served as a cornerstone of policing in Peel for more than 40 years. Its redevelopment reflects the growing and evolving needs of a region projected to reach nearly two million residents in the coming years.
This future-ready facility will bring together key operations to better serve officers and the community, including a first-of-its-kind centralized Detainee Processing Unit equipped with biometric monitoring and a Forensic Identification Services lab to aid in complex investigations.
With the support from our community partners and the Peel Police Services Board, this redevelopment symbolizes our vision of growth, innovation and stronger connections with the community we serve.
Peel Regional Police services will remain uninterrupted throughout the construction period, which is expected to be completed in 2028. We will continue to keep the community informed on the progress of these construction projects through regular updates on our website.
