Hate Crime Unit Charges Brampton Man After Road Rage Incident

Region of Peel – Officers from the Peel Regional Police Hate Crime Unit have charged a Brampton man in connection with a hate-motivated incident that escalated into a serious collision.

On Saturday, Nov. 8, around 2:30 a.m., police responded to reports of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle at a residence in Brampton. The incident allegedly began as a road rage confrontation, during which the accused followed the victim to a nearby address. The accused allegedly shouted obscenities and made racially charged comments before striking the victim with his vehicle, dragging him about five metres before fleeing the scene.

The victim was transported to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

As a result of the investigation, Nicolai Tindiris, a 22-year-old man from Brampton, has been arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
  • Aggravated Assault
  • Failure to Stop After Accident-Causing Bodily Harm
  • Obstruct Peace Officer

The accused was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
