Arrest Made in Hate-Motivated Incident at Chinguacousy Park
Region of Peel: Officers from 21 Division have arrested and charged a man in connection with a hate-motivated incident that occurred in Brampton.
On Oct. 11, 2025, the victim was in the area of Chinguacousy Park when he was confronted by an unknown individual who, without provocation, directed racial slurs toward him. The accused then brandished a replica firearm and attempted to assault the victim. The victim was able to subdue the accused, sustaining minor injuries in the process.
Officers responded promptly and arrested the accused on scene.
As a result, 44-year-old Robert Keith McNally, of no fixed address, has been charged with the following offences:
- Possession of Imitation Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
- Point Firearm
- Breach of Probation Order
- Assault
- Mischief Under $5000
The accused was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
Peel Regional Police’s Hate Crime Unit is overseeing the investgation.
