A Pride of Peel Regional Police – Officer Reaches Globally with Passion for Community Safety and Well-Being

Whether mentoring youth in Ontario, rebuilding homes in Kentucky or providing necessities for orphans in Mexico, Constable Frouke Antuma knows what Community Safety and Well-Being (CSWB) involves and what it takes to achieve.

When Peel Regional Police was informed that Constable Frouke Antuma had been selected as the 2020 recipient for the Community Service Award for both O.W.L.E. (Ontario Women in Law Enforcement) I.A.W.P. (International Association of Women Police), it was an authentic confirmation rather than a surprise.

Frouke was chosen from 111 nominees provincially, and even more on the global scale, for her outstanding commitment to community service. The life of service she has led, has been guided by and acted upon a proper understanding of the concept of CSWB and sincerely motivated by a high level of compassion and resolve. She uses opportunities to contribute to both the local and the international community's wellness through common and uncommon means of volunteering.

Frouke dedicates countless hours of her time serving at a local food bank to ensure that the community's hungry and vulnerable people don't go without a meal. As a role model and counsellor, Frouke works in various summer camps designed for the youth and people living with disabilities. She has helped rebuild housing for the underprivileged people of the Appalachian community of Kentucky. She travels to an orphanage in Mexico to help raise funds for projects that benefit the resident children and obtain donations for their daily needs.

It's a calling for Frouke to volunteer her time for people who do not have adequate resources, especially in supporting the youth. As the community's future, they need a high level of reassurance to continue on a positive path.

In her professional role as a Peel Regional Police officer, her commitment to selfless service continues to flow without ceasing. She has worked countless unpaid hours supporting, encouraging and mentoring many troubled and vulnerable youth in the community. "I appreciate times when I can mentor the young people in the community and give them somebody they can trust. That trust is vital to me and helps us as a service do positive, proactive work instead of being there only when trouble arises" says Constable Frouke Antuma.

Pending the removal of travel restrictions associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, Constable Frouke Antuma is slated to attend the Annual Awards Presentation Luncheon at the 58th I.A.W.P. Annual Training Conference, which will be held in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, in September 2021. While there, we are confident she will share her passion and commitment for community safety and well-being with so many of the like-minded law enforcement officers of the world. A true inspiration, Constable Frouke Antuma makes Peel Regional Police proud.
