We Will Not Tolerate This Reckless Violence

Region of Peel Within the last 24 hours, we have had three separate gun-related incidents in our region. Two were in broad-daylight, all were in very public places. This reckless disregard for public safety causes us great concern.

“We have a safe community and we plan to keep it that way. These incidents will be investigated thoroughly using all available resources in an effort to take guns off the street and arrest those responsible. Community safety is our highest priority and our employees will continue to work hard to reduce incidents of violence.” said Chief Jennifer Evans.

In recent months, we have increased the number of officers on the street during peak times to assist with call volume and our Strategic and Targeted Enforcement Policing program has enabled us to provide targeted enforcement to better address gangs and gun-related activity.

Our officers are working dilligently to locate those responsible for these incidents and to ensure they are brought to justice.
