VIDEO: Jackson’s Toy Drive Gets Santa’s Attention

On December 11, 2020, at Downey’s Farm, Santa himself thanked 7-year-old Jackson for his exceptional goodwill and ensured Jackson’s place on the “Nice List.”

Collecting toys for the Toys for Tots has been Jackson’s annual, and in some ways, life mission. Since before he was able to walk, his mother has encouraged him to give to other children in need by collecting gifts for Toys for Tots every year.

His motivation and generosity have grown over the years. Jackson’s 7th annual toy drive collected a whopping 150 toys for the cause this season, despite the limitations of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Toys for Tots, a campaign partnership between the Salvation Army, Peel Regional Police, and many other community stakeholders is a wonderful way for the community to provide gifts to children whose families are vulnerable and in need over the winter holidays.

Family and friends continue to support Jackson’s efforts in the cause and have continued to share their blessings with those who need the most support at this time of year. This year is one of considerable significance.

Kind and generous acts of this magnitude by young citizens of Peel Region speak to a brighter future and a Safer Community Together.

Anyone wishing to donate to Toys for Tots is welcome to donate online to the Salvation Army Toys For Tots donation page.
