VIDEO: Fast and Furious Speed Skater: Jackson Tomlinson
WATCH: His speed is like a bolt of lightning, the sound of his blades digging into the ice, winning three gold medals is a result of dedication and determination.
Jackson Tomlinson attended the Special Olympics Ontario Winter Games in Sault Ste. Marie on January 31st, 2019 to February 3rd, 2019, where he competed in the Speed Skating event. Jackson is very serious and competitive when it comes to races; he won three gold medals in the 222, 500 and 777 meter races.
Jackson’s love for the sport started when he watched the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics, “I decided I wanted to be a speed skater after watching Charles Hamlin, he motivated and inspired me.” In December of 2010, Jackson laced up a pair of speed skates for his very first time. From that moment on, he was hooked and fell completely in love with the sport.
“Speed skating has provided me with so much confidence, my best friends are from the sport and I really enjoy the inclusive and positive environment.”
Anything is possible, but not until you believe you can achieve it.
