Vehicle Stop leads to Multiple Firearms Charges in Brampton

Region of Peel: Officers from Peel Regional Police’s 21 Division Community Intervention Response Team (CIRT) have laid multiple firearm-related charges following a vehicle investigation in Brampton.
On Sunday, October 12, CIRT officers were conducting an investigation into Liquor Licence Act offences involving the occupants of a vehicle at a plaza near Airport Road and Braydon Boulevard. During the course of the investigation, officers located and seized an illegal Girsan 9mm handgun.
As a result, Satnam Singh, a 21-year-old male from Brampton, has been charged with the following offences:
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
- Occupant of a Motor Vehicle Knowing There was a Firearm
- Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
- Careless Storage of a Firearm
- Tampering with Serial Number of a Firearm
- Having Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor
The accused appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton for a bail hearing.
