Vehicle Investigation Leads to a Loaded Firearm (1)

Region of Peel – Officers from the Strategic and Tactical Enforcement Policing (STEP) team located a loaded firearm and laid multiple firearm-related charges after investigating a vehicle in Mississauga.
On Friday, July 11, at approximately 11:30 p.m., officers from the STEP team were conducting a proactive patrol in the area of Derry Road and Torbram Road. During an investigation, officers located and seized a loaded Glock 29 10mm Auto firearm.
As a result, Paul King, a 44-year-old from Brampton has been charged with the following offences:
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Occupant of a Motor Vehicle Knowing There was a Firearm
- Careless Storage of a Firearm
He was held pending a bail hearing and attended the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
