Updated Photo: Public Assistance Sought to identify the Rider of a Dirt Bike
Region of Peel – Investigators from the Peel Regional Police Major Collision Bureau have an updated photo and are seeking the public’s assistance in a dangerous driving investigation.
On July 1st, 2025, at approximately 3:20 p.m., police attempted to stop a dirt bike that was driving erratically on the roadway near Eglington Ave and Erin Mills Parkway. The vehicle was observed performing wheelies and other dangerous manoeuvres.
While trying to avoid police, the dirt bike made contact with a fully marked police cruiser.
A uniformed officer attempting to arrest the driver was struck and injured by the vehicle as it fled at a high rate of speed, accelerating recklessly through the crowded roadway.
The officer attended a local hospital for treatment, sustaining a serious, but non-life-threatening injury, which resulted from the collision.
Investigators from the Major Collision Bureau are requesting the public’s help in identifying the rider of the dirt bike, who is described as:
- Driver:
- o Young male between the age of 15 and 20
- o Wearing a black helmet
- o Black sweater
- o Black pants.
- The dirt bike is believed to be:
- o Electric powered
- o Dark coloured, possibly grey
