Two Traffic Stops Lead to Firearm and Drug Seizure

Region of Peel – Investigators from the 12 Division Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) arrested and charged five individuals for firearm and drug-related offences following two separate traffic stops in Mississauga.
On Aug. 2, 2025, while on proactive patrol, a traffic stop was conducted in the area of Derry Road East and Airport Road. As a result, three occupants were arrested and charged:
Quincy Brutus, a 21-year-old from Brampton
- Have Care and Control of a Vehicle or Boat with Cannabis Readily Available
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Occupant of a Motor Vehicle Knowing there was a Firearm
- Carrying a concealed Weapon
- Trafficking-Opioid (Other than Heroin)
Ethan Holness, a 20-year-old from Mississauga
- Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
- Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Occupant of a Motor Vehicle Knowing there was a Firearm
- Carrying a concealed Weapon
- Trafficking-Opioid (Other than Heroin)
Keyshawn Rose, a 21-year-old from Guelph
- Breach Of Probation Order
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Occupant of a Motor Vehicle Knowing there was a Firearm
- Carrying a concealed Weapon
- Trafficking-Opioid (Other than Heroin)
On Aug. 6, a second traffic stop was conducted in the area of Derry Road East and Edwards Boulevard. As a result, two individuals from Toronto were arrested and charged:
21-year-old Avinash Marcus Dookhie and a Young Person
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking- Cocaine
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking- Methamphetamine
- Have Care or Control of a Vehicle with Cannabis Readily Available
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Occupant of a Motor Vehicle Knowing there was a Firearm
- Carrying a concealed Weapon
- Trafficking-Opioid (Other than Heroin)
In addition, the Young Person was also charged with:
- Possession of a Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Possession of a Prohibited Device Knowing Its Possession is Unauthorized
- Carrying a Concealed Weapon
- Person Under 19 Years Possesses Cannabis
All five individuals were held for bail hearings and attended the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
A general provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (Y.C.J.A.) prohibits the release of the name of a Young Person, and, therefore, the identity of the Young Persons charged in this investigation is protected.
