Two Males Arrested after Night Time Residential Break and Enters

Region of Peel – Investigators from the 21 Division Break and Enter Unit have arrested two men who are responsible for a series of night time residential break and enters.  

During March and April 2019, there were 14 residential night time break and enters that occurred in the area of Balmoral Drive and Eastbourne Drive, in the city of Brampton. Four of the break and enters occurred while the home owners were home sleeping.  The total value stolen is estimated at $20,000.

On April 30, 2019 the suspects were identified and a search warrant was executed at their residence located in the City of Brampton.  Police located evidence and property, the total value recovered was $2,000. The recovered property was returned to the victims.  

On May 2, 2019, the two brothers, 26 year-old Stephen Cardy and 24 year-old Michael Cardy were arrested and charged with five counts of Break and Enter, 4 counts of Attempt Break and Enter and two counts of Possession of Stolen Property under $5,000.

Stephen Cardy was released on a Promise to Appear and Undertaking.   Michael Cardy was held for a bail hearing, he attended the Ontario Court of Justice on May 3, 2019.
