Two Arrested in Fail to Remain Involving a Stolen Vehicle and Drugs

Region of Peel – Officers from 12 Division Uniform Patrol arrested and charged two individuals in relation to a Fail to Remain, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Possession of a Controlled Substance in the City of Mississauga.

On Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at approximately 8:13 p.m. the individuals were travelling on the QEW at Cawthra road when they were involved in a motor vehicle collision and fled the scene. The victim a 47-year-old man from the City of Welland was not injured. A witness to the incident contacted police and provided additional information regarding the fleeing vehicle.

With the addition information of the license plate police were able to confirm the suspect vehicle was on file as stolen with London Police Service.

At 8:23 p.m. on Old Carriage Road police located and stopped the vehicle and arrested Michael Cooper Dill a 21-year-old man and Shayla Hanna a 22-year-old women both from the City of London.

A total street value of $180.00 in crystal methamphetamines and paraphernalia were seized.

Michael Cooper Dill was charged with Fail to Remain, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Possession of a Controlled Substance. He was released on a Promise to Appear and Undertaking. He is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice on November 1, 2018.

Shayla Hanna was charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Possession of a Controlled Substance. She was released on a Promise to Appear and Undertaking. She is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice on November 1, 2018.
