Suspect Wanted in Malton Stabbing Incident
Region of Peel – Investigators from the 12 Division Criminal Investigations Bureau (CIB) have identified the suspect in a stabbing incident in Malton.
On Friday, April 17, at approximately 8:30 a.m., officers responded to reports of a stabbing at the Malton GO Station, located at Derry Road and Airport Road in Mississauga.
Police determined that two males known to one another were involved in an altercation that escalated, resulting in one of the males being cut with an edged weapon. The victim, a man in his 30’s, was transported to hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect fled the area on foot.
Investigators have identified the suspect as 23-year-old Jaikaran Singh of Mississauga. A warrant has been issued for his arrest for Aggravated Assault as police continue to search for him. He is advised to seek legal counsel and turn himself in to police.
Jaikaran is described as South Asian, approximately 6 feet tall, with a thin build, medium-length black hair, and brown eyes. He has a birthmark on the right side of his head and a scar on the bridge of his nose.
If he is observed, members of the public are asked to call 9-1-1 immediately and not approach.
