Stolen Auto Arrest Leads to Firearm Charges
Region of Peel â 21 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau (CIB) has arrested and charged a 25-year-old man with possession of a firearm and stolen property-related offences.
On Sunday, May 4, 2025, officers observed a stolen vehicle in the area of Sandalwood Parkway East and Airport Road in the city of Brampton. Investigators observed a male suspect, Charandeep Singh, exit the vehicle and placed him under arrest. During the course of the investigation, several items were located on the accused, including a .40 calibre Glock handgun, a 9mm Taurus Millennium handgun, ammunition, and extended magazines.
Charandeep Singh of Brampton has been charged with the following offences:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm x2
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition x2
- Occupant of a Motor Vehicle Knowing There is a Firearm x2
- Careless Storage of Firearm x2
- Tampering with Serial Number of Firearm
- Possession of Prohibited Device of Ammunition Know it's Possession is Unauthorized
- Possession of Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
- Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Device
Singh was held for a bail hearing and appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
