State-Of-The-Art Division
With the grand opening of a state-of-the-art division, Peel Regional Police are positioned to provide more services to the people of Mississauga.
Following the completion of the multi-year construction project, 11 Division has expanded to 47,000 square feet of space. With the added space, 11 Division can now accommodate a larger staff and deliver programs not previously available. An additional ‘Buy & Sell Exchange Zone’ has been created at 11 Division. A records search unit providing criminal records checks and fingerprinting services is set to open in the near future, giving the community another facility to supplement the Square One Community Station in Mississauga and the Sir Robert Peel Centre in Brampton.
At a recent, well-attended open house at 11 Division, Inspector Rob Shearer spoke with residents about the new superstation and the capability it has to serve the nearly 400,000 people that reside within the boundaries of the division. “With the expansion and improvement of our division, the officers that patrol Mississauga are better suited to conduct their investigations in an efficient manner while still ensuring the concerns and safety of the community is addressed” said Shearer. “The pilot project that is currently underway at 11 Division for reporting accidents without any injuries has allowed officers to focus their attention on other types of calls and has increased engagement with the community. Working with the community is important to us and supports our vision of A Safer Community Together,” he went on to say.
