When people volunteer their time to support others in the community it is important to say ‘Thank you’. On June 20, 2018 Victim Services of Peel hosted a volunteer appreciation banquet in the City of Mississauga. This exceptional organization closely works in collaboration with Peel Regional Police. When someone finds themselves victimized by crime or tragic circumstance, 24-hour crisis support is available through Victim Services of Peel.
Kevin Ramkisson was recognized for volunteering over 1000 hours in the last 5 years. He has moved from crisis responder to Team Leader. Always presenting himself in a humble and unassuming way showing respect to all individual he encounters. On April 12, 2018 he was awarded the Attorney General’s Victim Service Award of Distinction in Queens Park.
The second recognitions was for the All Star of the Year award, a candidate must receive multiple nominations by staff and volunteers. This honour went to Craig De Boissiere who has given over 400 hour of service. Ever compassionate he remains constant and dependable for his afterhours crisis shifts, while others are fast asleep.
These individuals deserve applause for their exemplary service and dedication above and beyond their daily professions.
