Seven Arrested and Charged in 2024 Home Invasion Homicide
Region of Peel – Investigators from the Homicide Bureau have arrested and charged seven Toronto men in connection with a home invasion homicide in Mississauga.
On Oct. 1, 2024, at approximately 3:40 a.m., officers responded to shots fired at a residence in the area of Central Parkway West and Confederation Parkway. It is alleged that four masked individuals entered the home and confronted the occupants, demanding money and valuables.
During the confrontation, one of the homeowners, 55-year-old Ruo Zhou Wei, was shot and later died of his injuries in the hospital. The suspects fled the scene in a vehicle later identified as a white Volkswagen Atlas.
Following a complex and lengthy investigation - including extensive canvassing across more than 80 kilometers, forensic analysis, and judicial authorizations – investigators identified the suspects and others believed to be complicit.
As a result of search warrants and take-downs, a firearm was seized and seven individuals were arrested and held in custody pending bail on the following charges:
Sonam Wangchuk (25), Muhammad Rahimullah (21) and Tenzin Lama (21)
- Second Degree Murder
- Attempted Murder using Firearm
Kang Lu (69), Kwok Chik (65) and Xi Chen (64)
- Manslaughter
Tenzin Jungney (21)
- Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
- Careless Storage of Firearm
- Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Device
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
