Search Warrants Lead to Drugs and a Loaded Firearm

Region of Peel – Officers from the Strategic and Tactical Enforcement Policing (STEP) team seized a firearm and drugs following two residential and vehicle search warrants.
On Thursday, Aug. 7, officers from the STEP team executed two residential and two vehicle search warrants in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). During the execution of the search warrants, a quantity of cocaine, fentanyl, methamphetamine, and oxycodone was found.
As a result, Lloyd Accam, a 43-year-old man from Brampton, was arrested and charged. At the time of his arrest, he was found to be in possession of a loaded compact Sig Sauer and a quantity of cocaine. He has been charged with the following offences:
- Assault With Intent to Resist Arrest
- Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
- Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
- Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing there was Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted
- Careless Storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device, or Ammunition
- Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition
- Possession of Firearm, etc. Contrary to Order X4
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking X4
Two firearm prohibition orders also bound Lloyd Accam at the time of his arrest.
He was held for a bail hearing and attended the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
