Search Warrant Results in Firearm and Drugs Seized

Region of Peel - Officers from 21 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau have charged four individuals relating to firearm and drug-related offences.  

On Sunday, October 18, 2020, the Criminal Investigation Bureau, with the Tactical Unit's assistance, executed two criminal code search warrants at residences in the Brampton area.

The search warrant resulted in the seizure of a loaded 9mm firearm, a loaded .38 caliber firearm, and a quantity of cocaine and fentanyl.

Basil Mansfield, a 19-year-old man from Brampton, was charged with the following:

Carry Conceal weapon x2

Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition x 2

Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized x 2

Possession of a prohibited device 

Possession for the purpose x 2

Jaheim Powell, a 21-year-old man from Brampton, was charged with the following:

Careless storage of ammunition 

Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition x 2

Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized x 2

Possession of a prohibited device x 2

Possess a firearm while the person is prohibited to (Recognizance)

Breach of Probation Order

Possession for the purpose x 2

Basil Parkes, a 50-year-old man from Brampton, was charged with the following:

Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition x 2

Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized x 2

Possession of a prohibited device x 2

Possession for the purpose x 2

They were all held for a bail hearing and will attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on October 19, 2020.

Joyce Williams, a 44-year-old woman from Brampton, was charged with careless storage of ammunition. She was released with a court date to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on December 31, 2020.
