Public Safety - Stopping Lawless Behaviour Together

There has been growing concern from the community as social media videos have gone viral depicting people engaging in violent acts in the middle of the streets and parking lots. This has not gone unnoticed and become a priority for Peel Regional Police. We have increased uniform patrols, neighbourhood policing units and set out our Community Mobilization Team into the areas. Placing their focus on the locations that have been identified, this increase response assists in ultimately deterring this type of behaviour. It is very concerning to us that these incidents continue to occur.

Public safety is our top priority that requires a relationship with the community in which people speak freely with the police and call us anytime there is an issue.

If you happen to be in the area or witness one of these incidents ensure your safety and use your phone to call 9-1-1.

Should you be concerned about being identified, officers can meet you at another location, and your information will be kept confidential.

If you receive any further information on these happenings, we encourage you to report it directly to 22 Division Criminal Investigators Bureau at 905-453-2121 ext. 2233. Information may also be left anonymously by calling Peel Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or by visiting www.peelcrimestoppers.ca
