Public Safety Advisory – Sewing Needle Found in Halloween Candy

Region of Peel –Peel Regional Policeis issuing a public safety advisory regarding an investigation of tampered Halloween candy in the City of Brampton.

On Tuesday, November 7, 2017, Investigators from the 22 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau were made aware of a sewing needle discovered inside a Hershey’s Milk Chocolate Bar received by a child while trick or treating on Tuesday, October 31, 2017. 

Investigators are working to identify where the candy may have come from.  The areas where the child was trick or treating are as follows:

Cranwood Circle,

Bonnie Braes Drive,

James Potter Road.

The child was not injured.

Peel Regional Police are reminding everyone to check all candy received during this past  Halloween.

Investigators are asking anyone with information pertaining to this investigation to contact the 22 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau at 905-453-2121, ext. 2233. Information may also be left anonymously by calling Peel Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), or by visiting www.peelcrimestoppers.ca or by sending a text message to CRIMES (274637) with the word “PEEL” and then your tip.
