Region of Peel â Peel Regional Police is aware of planned protests set to take place today and over the weekend in the City of Mississauga.
While we respect the individual right to protest as per the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, our duty and responsibility remains to maintain public order and ensure the safety of everyone. As such, we are asking the cooperation of the public to engage and facilitate in peaceful and lawful protests.
Peel Regional Police will have increased and visible presence to monitor and respond to any unlawful activities. Any acts of violence, threats of violence or vandalism will be investigated. If you witness a crime in progress, we ask the public to report it immediately by calling 911.
We appreciate the cooperation and understanding of the public as we continue to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone in our community.
