Possession of Loaded Prohibited Firearm
Region of Peel – Officers from 22 Division uniform patrol have arrested and charged two men with gun related offences.
On Wednesday, July 2, 2025, officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Kennedy Road and Clarence Street in the city of Brampton. During the interaction, officers located a loaded Glock 19 handgun and arrested the occupants.
Michel Downey, an 18-year-old from Mississauga and Meh’kel Fagan, a 19-year-old from Brampton were charged with the following offences:
- Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
- Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
- Possession of a Prohibited Device or ammunition knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
- Occupant of Motor Vehicle knowing there was Firearm.
Downey was additionally charged with:
- Breach of Recognizance
- Obstruct Peace Officer
Both individuals were held for a bail hearing and attended the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
