Police/Peace Officer Exemplary Service Bars/Medals & Civilian Recognition Awards Ceremony

Region of Peel - On Wednesday, May 1, 2019, Exemplary Service Bars and Medals were awarded to ninety-six (96) Peel Regional Police Officers and one (1) Peace Officer in a ceremony in Brampton. The medals are presented to members who have completed 20 years of exemplary service, and the bars to members who have achieved 30 and 40 years of exemplary service. Thirty-nine (39) civilian members also received Recognition Awards for 20 and 30 years of service.

The Police Exemplary Service Medal was created in 1983, by the Government of Canada, to recognize long and outstanding service in high risk professions providing public security. The medals are presented annually by the members of the Regional Municipality of Peel Police Services Board, on behalf of the Governor General.
