Police Seize a Loaded Firearm and Narcotics after Traffic Stop

Region of Peel– Officers from Strategic Tactical Enforcement Policing (S.T.E.P.) have arrested and charged two individuals with firearms and drug related offences.

On Sunday, October 7th, 2018, at approximately 10:50 p.m. a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle in the area of Tomken Road and Steeles Avenue, East in the City of Brampton. During the course of the investigation, a male occupant attempted to swallow an amount of narcotics in an attempt to destroy evidence. After a brief struggle, the male was arrested at which point officers located a 9mm firearm.

Ryan Williams, a 26 year-old man from Essex County, was charged with numerous firearms and drug offences along with charges for attempting to disarm a peace officer and obstructing a peace officer.

April Borgiani, a 21 year-old woman of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with numerous firearms and drug offences.

Both Williams and Borgiani were held in custody and appeared in the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on October 8, 2018.
