Police Seek to Identify a Suspect in Brampton Bank Robbery
Region of Peel – Investigators from the Central Robbery Bureau are seeking the public’s assistance in their investigation of two bank robberies in the City of Brampton.
On Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at approximately 9:16 a.m. the suspect entered a TD branch located in north Brampton. He approached the victim, a 64 year-old male of Brampton, who was standing at the counter making a cash deposit. The suspect put the victim in a head lock and held a gun to his head demanding money. The victim complied and the suspect fled the bank on foot. The victim was not injured during the incident.
On Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at approximately 10:02 a.m. the suspect entered an RBC branch located in north Brampton. After speaking to a bank teller about opening a new account, he retrieved a black handgun and made a demand for money. The suspect then grabbed a customer, a 50 year-old male of Toronto, around the neck and pointed the handgun at him demanding more money. The teller complied and the suspect fled the bank on foot. There were no injuries sustained in this incident.
The suspect is described as male, black, 25-30 years old, thin build, 6’ tall, with a thick black beard, black matted hair, and pierced ears. He was wearing a black baseball hat with a white logo, faded dark-light grey hoody, dark grey baggy sweat pants, white running shoes with a black and orange sole. The suspect also spoke with a heavy accent.
