Police Seek Assistance in Locating Suspects In Shooting

Region of Peel– Investigators from the 22 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau are seeking the public’s assistance in their investigation regarding a shooting in the City of Brampton.     

On September 22, 2018 at 3:03 a.m. the victim and three suspects were at a bar located at 51 McMurchy Avenue South, Brampton. The parties became involved in a verbal dispute outside of the bar that turned violent when the victim was shot in the stomach. The victim was rushed to a trauma center with life threatening injuries. The victim remains in hospital in stable condition.

On September 23, 2018, Justin MELO was arrested and charged by Peel Regional Police with ten separate criminal charges including Attempt Murder and Discharge Firearm.  

Investigation continued into the incident and two further suspects were identified. Police are now seeking the public’s assistance in locating these two men who are wanted for Attempt Murder and various firearm related charges. They are actively evading police.

Bruno TORRES-SODOMA, a 33 year-old male from the City of Brampton is wanted for Attempt Murder and Aggravated Assault. He is described as male, white, heavy build, 5’9” tall, 190 lbs., tattoo on left side of neck, black hair and a black goatee.

Brandon REGO, a 24 year-old male from the City of Brampton is wanted for eleven Criminal charges including Attempted Murder. He is described as male, white, slim build, 5’7” tall, 140 lbs., brown hair, green eyes, beard and mustache.

Both men are believed to be armed and dangerous. If you see either man or know where they are do not approach them; call 9-1-1 immediately.
