Police Make Arrest in String of Brampton Retail Robberies
Region of Peelâ Members of the Central Robbery Bureau, with the assistance of 22 Division Uniform Officers, have identified and arrested a young offender after a recent string of armed robberies in the City of Brampton.
In the early morning hours of Sunday January 5, 2020, four separate retail locations were targeted by the same three suspects who brandished a weapon and demanded money. In one of the incidents, an employee sustained minor injuries when confronted by the suspects.
The robbery incidents took place at locations in the area of Bramalea Road, Wexford Road, North Park Drive, and Chinguacousy Road in the City of Brampton.
A young offender has been charged with four counts of Robbery, Wearing a Disguise, Possession of an Imitation Firearm, one count of Weapons Dangerous, two counts of Possession of Stolen Property and one count of Breach of Court Order.
The young person was held for a bail hearing and later attended the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
A general provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (Y.C.J.A.) prohibits the release of the name of a Young Person and, therefore, the identities of the Young Persons charged in this investigation are protected.
