Police Make Arrest in Stabbing and Robbery Incident

Region of Peel– Investigators from the 22 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau are seeking the public’s assistance as they investigate a stabbing in the City of Brampton.

On Friday June 22, 2018 at approximately 10:00 p.m. a 16 year-old male from Brampton was present by the splash pad areas at Century Gardens Recreation Centre. The 16 year-old victim was swarmed by a group 10-15 males of males attempting to rob him.

The victim was stabbed numerous times and was rushed to a Toronto Trauma Centre with life threatening injuries. The victim is still in hospital, stable condition.

On Wednesday June 27, 2018, a 16 year-old male young offender from Brampton was arrested and charged with one count of Robbery. The accused was released on a Promise to Appear with a court date at the end of July 2018.

A general provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (Y.C.J.A.) prohibits the release of the name of a Young Person and, therefore, the identity of the Young Person charged in this investigation is protected.

Police are asking the publics help to identify the remaing males in this vicious attack.
