Police Make an Arrest in Bomb Threat to Elementary School

Region of Peel â€“ Investigators from the Peel Regional Police 12 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau have arrested a man in relation to a bomb threat made against an elementary school in Mississauga.

On Friday, October 9, 2020, at 8:53 a.m., police responded to a school in the area of Brandon Gate Drive and Keenan Cresent in the city of Mississauga. The School administration received a call from an unknown male claiming a bomb in the building.

The children and staff were evacuated from the building, police and specially trained K9 unit searched the school. The building was deemed safe to return.

On Saturday, October 10, at 11:40 a.m., Delano Gibson, a 27-year-old man from Vaughn, was arrested and charged with Public Mischief and False Message. Gibson will attend the Ontario Court of Justice on December 15, 2020, for his first appearance.
