Police Appeal for Witnesses in Child Assault
Region of Peel – Investigators from the 21 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau are seeking the public’s assistance as they investigate an assault in the City of Brampton.
On Wednesday September 26 2018, at approximately 7:30 a.m., the 11 year-old victim was riding a scooter to school on a pathway in the area of Sunny Meadow Blvd. and Chapparal Drive, Brampton. The suspect walking the opposite direction on the pathway said, ‘Get over here’ to the victim. The victim refused at which time he was knocked off his scooter by the suspect and then punched. The victim swung his scooter hitting the suspect and fled the area. The victim attended school and school personnel alerted emergency services. The victim received a minor injury from the incident and was treated at the school by paramedics.
The suspect is described as: Male, light skin, late teens to early twenties, wearing a black hoodie, blue/black pants, blue/black Nike shoes. He was on foot and was not associated to any vehicle.
Investigators are appealing for witnesses to the incident or any persons who may have video surveillance in the area or any information regarding the incident.
