Peel Regional Police launches new culturally-focused initiative as part of CSWB
Region of Peel – Peel Regional Police needs your assistance in developing a new culturally-focused approach to better serve our community. In line with our Community Safety and Well-being (CSWB) strategy, we will be launching the South Asian Community Engagement (SACE) initiative, which will aim to strengthen partnerships, and identify ways to be better support the needs of our diverse populations.
The initiative will be informed through two town-hall sessions, a community survey and one-on-one consultations with community partners.
Approximately 40% of residents in Brampton and Mississauga self-identify as South Asian. The information that is gathered will assist with the development of a framework to improve service delivery, and serve as a model for other community-related initiatives.
Town-hall sessions will be held at the Emil V. Kolb Centre located at 180 Derry Road, Mississauga on:
- September 29, 2023: 6 to 8 p.m. - Register for the September 29 session
- October 7, 2023: 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.- Register for the October 7 session
*Registration is required to attend town-hall sessions.
An online survey is also available as of September 11, 2023 for all residents of Peel and can be accessed by clicking here. The survey will be open until September 25, 2023.
Any questions about the initiative can be directed to SACE@peelpolice.ca.
