Peel Regional Police Launch 2025 Seasonal RIDE Campaign
Region of Peel – Peel Regional Police has launched the 2025 Seasonal Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) Campaign in partnership with Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD Canada), reinforcing its commitment to prevent impaired driving and keep roads safe this holiday season.
Running from Nov. 15 to Dec. 31, RIDE represents a focused increase in enforcement during the holidays while highlighting Peel Police’s year-round dedication to promoting safe driving. During this time, additional officers from Road Safety Services and other divisions will be deployed for roadside checks throughout the region.
While alcohol-impaired driving remains a serious concern, drug-impaired driving introduces new challenges. Detecting and addressing these offences requires specialized tools, advanced training, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
RIDE has evolved in response to emerging public safety concerns, including the legalization of cannabis, the ongoing opioid crisis, and the rise in poly-drug use among drivers. Peel Regional Police continues to adapt, investing in new technologies and officer development to address these challenges head-on.
Peel Police reminds all drivers that zero tolerance for alcohol and drugs behind the wheel is not just the law—it’s a shared commitment to protecting lives:
- Never Drive Impaired – by alcohol, cannabis, or any other substance.
- Plan Ahead – use a designated driver, arrange an alternate place to stay, or take public transit or a rideshare.
- Speak Up – if you suspect another driver is impaired, call 911 immediately.
