Two People Charged After Drugs and Firearms Seized in Residential Search Warrant
Region of Peel – Officers from the Major Drugs and Vice Bureau have arrested and charged a male and a female for numerous firearms and drug related offences in the City of Mississauga.
On Wednesday February 28, 2018, the Major Drugs and Vice Bureau executed a residential search warrant in the area of Dixie Road and Burnhamthorpe Road in the City of Mississauga.
As a result of the search warrant, police located and seized firearms:
- Winchester Semi Automatic Rifle
- Lee Enfield Bolt Action Rifle
- Browning Arms 12 Gauge Shotgun
- Several boxes of ammunition
In addition to the firearms, a large quantity of cocaine, marihuana, methamphetamine and heroin was seized. The street value of the seized drugs was in excess of $44,000.
Moises LLANOS, a 38 year-old male of Mississauga, was arrested and charged with numerous firearms and drug related offences. LLANOS was held for a bail hearing on Thursday March 1, 2018, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
A 17 year-old female of Mississauga was also arrested and charged with numerous firearms and drug related offences. She was later released on a promise to appear with a future court date in March 2018.
A general provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (Y.C.J.A.) prohibits the release of the name of a Young Person and, therefore, the identity of the Young Person charged in this investigation is protected.
