Peel Police-Police/Peace Officer Exemplary Service Recognition Awards Ceremony

Region of Peel - On Wednesday, May 23, 2018, Exemplary Service Bars and Medals were awarded to eighty-one (81) Peel Regional Police Officers and one (1) Peace Officer in a ceremony in Brampton. The medals are presented to members who have completed 20 years of exemplary service, and the bars to members who have achieved 30 and 40 years of exemplary service. Eighteen (18) civilian members also received Recognition Awards for 20 and 30 years of service.

“It is important that we recognize the significant career milestones of these Peel Regional Police employees.  These awards recognize their on-going dedication, professionalism and commitment.  Policing is a challenging profession and their devotion and that of their families, to their careers, and to the safety of the community is commendable. I congratulate them on this momentous accomplishment,” said Chief Jennifer Evans.

The Police Exemplary Service Medal was created in 1983, by the Government of Canada, to recognize long and outstanding service in high risk professions providing public security. The medals are presented annually by the members of the Regional Municipality of Peel Police Services Board, on behalf of the Governor General.

Members of the Regional Municipality of Peel Police Services Board and members of the Chief’s Management Group presented this year’s awards.
