Peel Police - Police Remind Citizens About Potential Warm-Up Thefts

Region of Peel – Police are reminding the public of the dangers of warming up your vehicle while leaving it unattended.

On Friday December 15, 2017 there were a number of warm-up car thefts reported to Peel Regional Police. This type of car thefts occurs more often throughout the Region of Peel during the cold weather season. It takes less than a minute for a thief to steal a vehicle when it is left unattended.

Peel Regional Police recommend that you never leave your vehicle running and unattended – even in your driveway. 

Anyone who may have any information pertaining to any theft of a vehicle may call Peel Regional Police at (905) 453-3311.  Information may also be left anonymously by calling Peel Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), or by visiting www.peelcrimestoppers.ca, or by sending a text message to CRIMES (274637) with the word “PEEL” and then your tip.
