Peel Police Partnership Sends Over a Hundred Students to Camp
Peel Regional Police partnered with Free for All Foundation and Peel District School Board to offer day camps during P.A. Days in Brampton. More than 100 children between the ages of 5-13 attend the day camps absolutely free thanks to funding by Jumpstart Charity.
Youth Education Officers play a major role by attending all of the camp days and interacting, instructing, playing and engaging with the children. Students participate in activities such as arts and crafts, skills, drills and various other workshops.
At the most recent day camp, a jam packed day of activities included a BoxOut athletic performance workshop, UNITY hip-hop class, and a BBQ lunch. Members of Peel Regional Police basketball team also joined in to participate with the kids.
All of the activities are meant to empower and shape the characters of youth. The enthusiasm in the room was contagious and lots of laughs were shared during this fun day.
