2017 TORCH RUN FOR SPECIAL OLYMPICS
 

Region of Peel - On Thursday June 1, 2017 at 10:30 a.m., Peel Regional Police employees will join their law enforcement partners to run, walk, cycle and rollerblade alongside Special Olympians in the annual Catherine Heaney Memorial Torch Run for Special Olympics.  The event is supported by the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police.

There are three routes starting from 21 Division (11 km), Brampton City Hall (5.5 km) or Peel Police Headquarters (3.2 km) with all runs ending at Emil V. Kolb Centre for Police Excellence, 180 Derry Road East, Mississauga.

Peel Regional Police is honoured to be the official host of the 2017 Special Olympics Ontario Provincial Summer Games.

From July 13th to 16th 2017, the Region of Peel is welcoming close to 800 athletes along with coaches, staff and spectators for the 2017 Special Olympics Ontario Provincial Summer Games. Athletes train hard year-round to qualify. The Games in Peel Region will be their moment to shine.

Media outlets are encouraged to attend the Emil V. Kolb Center to capture the runners and walkers completing the event.
