Peel Police - Appeal for Witnesses in Theft of Rare Collectible Coins and Bank Notes

Region of Peel – Investigators from the 12 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau are seeking the public’s assistance in their investigation into a theft of rare collectible coins and bank notes in Mississauga.

On Tuesday, September 26, 2017, the victim, a 68 year-old man from British Columbia, had parked his motor vehicle in a hotel parking lot in the area of Edwards Boulevard and Derry Road in the City of Mississauga. At approximately 1:00 p.m., the suspect gained entry into the motor vehicle and stole two bags containing a quantity of collectible coins and bank notes from within it. The total value of items stolen is estimated at $1,300,000.00

The suspect is described as male, olive complexion, heavy build, 35-45 years of age and balding.

Investigators are appealing to the public for anyone who may have witnessed the incident, have dashboard video footage of the incident or who may have any other information regarding the incident or the suspect of this theft.
