Peel Police - Appeal for Witnesses in a Serious Fail to Remain Collision
Region of Peel – Investigators from the Major Collision Bureau are appealing for witnesses to a serious Fail to Remain motor vehicle collision that occurred in the City of Brampton.
On Thursday December 28, 2017 at approximately 9:45 p.m. the driver of a 2017 Dodge Challenger was travelling at a high rate of speed on Chinguacousy Road and Charolais Boulevard in Brampton prior to the collision.
At this time the driver lost control, mounted a center median striking a railway crossing indicator and colliding with another vehicle travelling northbound on Chinguacousy Road.
Investigators have evidence that this collision was the result of a racing incident. The suspect vehicle is a Dodge Charger which was seen fleeing southbound on Chinguacousy Road at a high rate of speed.
The driver of the 2017 Dodge Challenger is a 20 year-old male from Kingston who transported to a Toronto Trauma Centre and remains in critical condition. The driver and passenger of the second vehicle were taken to a local hospital for minor injuries.
Investigators are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the collision, have video footage of the incident or who may have information regarding the actions of the drivers and the Dodge Charger involved prior to the collision.
