Patrol Officers Seize Loaded Handgun During Vehicle Stop
Region of Peel – Officers from 22 Division have arrested three individuals and seized loaded gun following a vehicle stop in Brampton.
On Jan. 21, at approximately 11 p.m., officers on patrol investigated a vehicle for cannabis related offences. During the investigation, officers located a loaded illegal handgun concealed on one of the occupants. Three of the occupants were arrested and held in custody for bail hearing on the following charges:
Traevon Pinnock-Smith, 22 year-old male, from Brampton:
- Carrying Concealed Weapon
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
- Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing there was Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon
- Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
- Possesion of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized.
Cassie Kerridge, 23-year-old female, from Toronto:
- Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing there was Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon
- Drive Vehicle or Boat with Cannabis in Open Original Packaging (Cannabis Control Act)
Keyante Henry-Spencer, 23-year-old female, from Toronto and Jonathan Anderson, 22-year-old male, from Brampton:
- Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing there was Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon
Over the last 48 hours, frontline patrol officers from 22 Division have proactively seized two loaded handguns during the course of their duties. (Read More Here).
