Mississauga Impaired Driving Call Leads to Firearm

Region of Peel– Officers from Peel Regional Police 12 Division have arrested a male for being in possession of a loaded handgun during an impaired driving investigation.

On Thursday, January 17, 2019, at 2:52 p.m., police received reports of a possible impaired driver in the area of Eglinton Avenue and Hurontario Street, City of Mississauga. Police located the vehicle with help from citizens and found the driver of the vehicle passed out while in the driver’s seat. During the arrest a loaded 9mm handgun was located on the driver. Further investigation of the vehicle located illicit drugs as well.

Jevere Anthony Grignon,a 21 year old male from Brampton, has been charged with impaired driving, firearm, and drug related offences.

The accused was held for a bail hearing and appeared at the A. Grenville & William Davis Ontario Court of Justice in the City of Brampton on January 18, 2019.
