Man Arrested in Stabbing

Region of Peel – Investigators from the 22 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau have arrested and charged a 39 year-old man in relation to a stabbing that occurred at a restaurant located in the area of Queen Street East and Rutherford Road in the City of Brampton.

On Monday, December 3, 2018 at approximately 12:30 a.m. the victim, a 38 year-old man from Brampton, became involved in an altercation with another man, who produced two knives and stabbed the victim. The victim was transported to a trauma center with serious injuries.

After the incident the male party fled the area and became involved in a single vehicle collision at Heartlake Road and Clark Blvd at which point he fled on foot. 

Jason Zafar a 39 year-old from Brampton was located shortly thereafter and arrested and charged for Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose (2 Counts) and Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle. He was held for a bail hearing and attended the Ontario Court of Justice on December 3, 2018.
